What Is The US Armed Services?

In my definition the United States Armed Services is defined as the combined Military of Naval, Land, and Air forces standing ready to be sent to attack and defeat the forces that seek to destroy the land and people of the United States. The free dictionary states that the Armed Services are a term used to denote collectively all components of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. See also United States Armed Forces. The dictionary reference says that the Armed Services are Military, Naval, and Air forces, especially of a nation or of a number of nations. Finallydefinitions us legal say that in the federal government, the term ''armed forces'' means the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. States also have armed forces. The militia of a state is allowed to accept all able-bodied male citizens, and all other able-bodied males who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States, between certain ages, and who are residents of the state, and of such other persons, male and female, as may upon their own application, be enlisted or commissioned.
